DR. KRISTIN PETERSON-SALGADO, OD

CLUB PRESIDENT

I joined Del Sol Lions Club in 2010 to provide eye exams and eyeglasses for low-income, uninsured youth in our local area. It’s been a joy to give the gift of sight, leading to classroom success. I am genuinely impressed with the work our club does in our local community to provide food to the local food insecure, blankets and sleeping bags to the homeless, school supplies to children in need, scholarships to those who can’t afford tuition and as we grow, we discover new ways to help.

FRAN FENECAL

CLUB VICE PRESIDENT

When I retired after 30 years as a local high school teacher and principal, I wanted to continue making a difference for people in our community. The Del Sol Lions Club does just that. Through our various service projects, we work together to help local youth and families, people in need, veterans, and vision programs. I really appreciate the camaraderie and positive attitude in our club.

LINETTE PAGE

CLUB SECRETARY

After retiring from corporate America, my top priority was to finally get involved in my community and give back. I chose the Del Sol Lions because of their local focus and range of service projects. It’s so rewarding to be part of such a dedicated service group bringing noticeable positive changes to those in need in the North County.

JOHN PAGE

CLUB TREASURER

I have always enjoyed giving back to the community. I started years ago by giving time via organizational positions with the YMCA Indian Princess and Trailmates programs and projects supporting the Challenged Athletes Foundation Mission. Our diverse group enables everyone to contribute their talents, time, and treasures to help local people in need. Seeing the joy and excitement on a child’s face when we provide them with a bicycle (for many, it’s their first) is incredible.

ROBIN KEMP

CLUB DIRECTOR

My Mom always had a Lions box to collect glasses in her optical shop and I loved that people could recycle their glasses. So, when I learned that there was a new lions club forming in 2010, I joined as a charter member! I have learned that the lions do so much more than just collect glasses! I really enjoy helping out at fundraising opportunities and contributing to the community!

CAROLINE MATTHEWS

CLUB DIRECTOR

Seven years ago I attended a DSL club meeting as a guest. It was then that I learned of the many volunteer opportunities which serve our Community in the best possible ways.  We’ve stuffed Backpacks with school supplies for kids, sponsored Blanket drives for Holiday Baskets, and boxed food for families in need to name just a few of the incredible programs DSL sponsors. This club has fulfilled my desire to help those in need and at the same time, I’ve made lasting friendships.

BECCA ROBINSON

CLUB DIRECTOR

I joined the Del Sol Lions in 2022 in order to volunteer in our local community. I enjoy participating in the Homeless and Hunger committee, as well as designing social media posts and maintaining our website.
